Bassmead Manor Barns in Cambridgeshire 10/10!
Bassmead Manor Barns is a stunning barn conversion wedding venue in Cambridgeshire. I returned here for the third time recently to play for the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening party of Alexandra & Umma, and what a day it was!
The Ceremony in Bassmead Manors Rickety Barn
The day started in the ‘Rickety Barn’ an affectionately named barn conversion full of character. Ideal space for a summer or winter wedding. The acoustics for live music are perfect, a theme at Bassmead, so the atmosphere I aim to create of ‘being in a movie’ worked perfectly. Alexandra and her Dad entered to my live saxophone version of “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. Not a dry eye in the house, she looked stunning! The couple and guests left with an uplifting vocal version of “Fly Me To The Moon” being sung by myself.
The Wedding Breakfast
Following the lively drinks reception with some Indian drumming, I played for the wedding breakfast in the main Bridge Barn at Bassmead. A light and airy space with French Oak beams and beautifully dressed tables. As always a mix of easy listening and gentle vocal and saxophone tunes added an ambience that lifted the atmosphere. A real talking point, with my high-end speakers easy to hear across the room but not dominating.
The Party at Bassmead Manor
As an evening party goes, this one was fantastic fun with a disco mix of modern classics, some R&B a few for the oldies. For Umma and his friends a little Bhangra, infectious music as some of my photo’s show! I performed my live party set and songs a varied as “Happy” “Sex On Fire” and “Great Balls Of Fire” were enjoyed by all.
So what to say about Bassmead Manor Barns as a venue overall? I can’t fault it. The staff were friendly and accommodated me throughout the day. The spaces are well planned; the acoustics are fabulous throughout, and there is no noise limiter. If a Cambridgeshire based venue is what you’re after, I’d certainly give Bassmead Manor Barns some serious consideration. 10/10 from me!
